Everson Holiday Festival of Trees returns

The Everson Museum of Art’s Holiday Festival of Trees, presented by the Everson Members’ Council, will make a comeback in 2009.
After a one-year hiatus, this holiday favorite will be returning, with a new location and new twists. This year’s festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily Dec. 4-13. Admission is $5 for all, children under 5 admitted free.
The former BonTon location at Shoppingtown Mall, Dewitt, will be home to ongoing live seasonal music and more than 100 decorated trees, wreaths and special displays donated by local individuals, businesses and community organizations.
The move came out of necessity, as the Festival’s former space at the Everson Museum of Art is currently filled with French impressionist paintings that are a part of “Turner to Cezanne: Masterpieces from the Davies Collection, National Museum Wales.”
“We are thrilled to have the support and generosity of ShoppingTown Mall,” said Cheryl Ward, festival co-chair. “The Museum is hosting a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition, and still gets to present the community with this seasonal tradition.
The funds brought in from the Festival directly support exhibitions like ‘Turner to Cezanne.’”
The Holiday Festival of Trees has been made possible by generous support from community members and organizations. All proceeds from the Holiday Festival of Trees go toward special exhibit and education programming at the Everson.
Additional Festival of Trees programming includes the event kick-off, the Peek Party, and children’s favorite and the Teddy Bear Tea.
